This weekend Ironbound 16U participated in the first Prep Meets Club Jamboree.  Games took place at two beautiful facilities:  Yale’s, Ingalls Rink and Wesleyan’s Spurrier-Snyder Rink. Yale University is an American private Ivy League research university in New Haven, Connecticut. The women’s ice hockey team plays Division I hockey in the ECAC.  Wesleyan University is a diverse, energetic liberal arts community nestled in Middletown, Connecticut. The women’s ice hockey team plays Division III in the NESCAC – New England Small College Athletic Conference.

At the event, players heard Ray Diffley, the Director of Admissions at Choate,  talk about the academic standing needed to be met for college hockey.  Samantha Curran, Ironbound Coach, and former Wesleyan player spoke about her recruitment experience and life as a student-athlete at Wesleyan.  The weekend was full of competitive hockey and beautiful surroundings!

Scores for the weekend were:

  • 2-0 VT Academy over North Yarmouth Academy
  • 4-0 Shoreline Sharks over North Yarmouth Academy
  • 2-1 VT Academy over Ironbound Elite 16U
  • 1-0 Shoreline Sharks over Ironbound Elite 16U

Thank you to everyone at Yale and Wesleyan for the opportunity to play at your beautiful facilities! We hope to expand this event in December of 2019 so stay tuned for the Prep Meets Club 2019.
