Alexa Aramburu Joins Ironbound Coaching Staff

Ironbound Elite is excited to announce that will be returning to our program for a third season as the Assistant coach to both the 2008 (Bantam Minor) and 19U Premier teams.

Alexa joined our program in September of 2019 and has worked primarily with our 16 & 19U athletes. In the 2020/21 season, she was the head coach for Devils Youth peewee major and as well as the Head Coach of IHA girls varsity hockey. Outside of hockey Alexa is a full-time physical education teacher and has a passion for health and fitness.

Prior to joining Ironbound Alexa played four years of NCAA hockey at SUNY Oswego and further professionally with the Toronto Fury, NWHL Metropolitan Riveters, NWHL CT Whale, and the PWHPA.

Hockey Director Sam Cheema says, “Alexa is a fantastic role model for our athletes to look up to and ask questions on a daily basis. She played at a fantastic school and professionally – there are not many that can boast that. All the players are very comfortable with Alexa and she brings a different perspective to the bench that I sometimes might overlook. Working with Alexa is a lot of fun – more so because the players get a lot out of her coaching.”
